Lemma just ran 5:08 for mile 20 and doesn't look like he's moving fast. Confirmed. 5:27 for mile 21. Now he had a 2:49 lead at mile 20.
Lead still 2:29 at 21 miles. Where does the downhill start?

5:27 21st mile for Lemma.
Seriously? I guess he went out way too quick. That's in the range of people on this board being able to do today.
You could literally pick any random 3 people off this forum and a calculator who would do 10000 x better job of commentary
The commercials LOL
Imagine putting commercials in London
Mental
Put commercials in the Olympics 800m and 1500m

yeah Lemma's dying and going to get rolled up
Lemma is great, but did we really think he would shatter the course record without a struggle? No
Second place, John Korir - ran 17 seconds faster mile 20 to 21 than Lemma. But he is 2:29 behind....
While he had a 2:49 lead at mile 20, he only ran the uphill 21st mile in 5:28. The chasers just picked up 20 seconds on him. So the lead is down to 2:29 with 5.2 to go!!! Now the rest of the race is downhill but this could get interesting.
Women’s race starting!
Well lemma is done . Gonna get caught
It's on!
At 20 miles Lemma's lead was 2:49 the same as it was at 30k (18.8).
However now at mile 21 it's only 2:29. So he lost 20 seconds on Heartbreak Hill.
But he can lose 20 seconds a mile all the way in and still win the race by 49 seconds. That's how big his lead is.
Bates and Hall dropped.
now, at 21

With 5 miles to go, they need to be running 30s per mile faster than Lemma to catch him..
Can we appreciate local Boston anchor Maria Stephanos? That is one fine looking 60 year old!

Please tell me you are being sarcastic
Ouch, Lemma's projected finish time still going up at 35k. Downhills are hurting him
Like this commentating is really really bad. No MENTION of how he's slowed down massively and how the lead is getting shorter. Much shorter.
Lemma is back to sub 5 pace

The chase pack will be aware of the gap and it will be too much mentally
From 2:49 lead at 30 K to 2:14 at 35 K -- Fading but still has a good lead.
And there go the Africans. Say goodbye to Emma and Sarah, unfortunately.
