you play soccer before you run, that is the impressive training.

I would guess 99% that have run sub 30 started running as a child or teenager.

of course, look at the runners in Japan, high schoolers can run into sub13:50 5k.
Your not that talented, i started running this last 2 months and have already ran sub17 5k on 20mpw (i am 20)

That's because you are on path to be the next 5k world record holder.....
At least on LRC.
I'm not even joking, i started running 2 months ago, and a week ago i ran 16'48s...

We know it's wrong.
You could have said you ran 13:56 after 6 months. Nobody is going to believe it as well.
Why ? Because you have trouble running sub20 5k with 60mpw training ?? In my case it's true, and I know some who have accomplished much better in less than 3 months ...

No, because you probably can't run 25 minutes and yet you are bragging without any proof of having outstanding capacities.
It happens often.
What world do you live in? Sub17 after 2 months does not exactly correspond to the definition I have of "outstanding capacities", it's not like I have run a sub4'20 mile...
And if it really is that impressive then that makes me happy and I will set myself ambitious goals such as sub 14 in 2 years! :p
Just go run more! Potential is nothing if you are not willing to work. More running, less talking and worrying about your potential. Even with more work, you'll just be another age group medal winner.
I was convinced to participate in a charity 10k road race when I was 24. The only activity I was doing at the time was playing softball 2 days per week. I had not run a step in 9 months and I ran 34:20. I could hardly walk for 2 days after.
haha. love this thread. i have to admit i have no idea what is impossible for a fully grown, young adult. I have only charted improvements with kids, from the time they are 13 until they are 18 years old. So much improvement just from going through puberty!

Let's see the GPS Data! Post a screenshot or a Strava link.

Are you kidding!?! Well under 6:00 pace and you hadn't run for 9 MONTHS?
That kind of result beggars belief. You must be crazy talented. What did you run when you actually trained for it?
I ran 4:15 mile in college. I ran 14:50 5k about 2 years after the 10k.

You are a liar . A 16:45 is roughly equivalent to a 2:40 marathon and a 4:50 mile..
No one is going to believe you that you achieved it in 2 months, without any proof, race results or training data. People here frequently claim to have fantastic talent off the couch, few can back it up. You could be the exception, but it's higly unlikely.
I believe it. If the guy has 14:30 talent, he would probably be running sub 16 on that training after 2 months.
Ingebrigtsen wins in 13:20, Mills 2nd in 13:21, Nordas a disappointing 13:26 nowhere near medals
Why is Parker Valby so unconcerned about Olympic standards and rankings?
