Drug Cheat Mary Akor - Trials?

I've heard of the following about akor: spits on competitors, pushes them mid race, hops curbs in order to save 2ft of extra running (*which I think should be an automatic DQ- actually, according to the rules, it should!), among other things. too bad we can't truly say "good riddance to her.

Interested to see this and another post about Akor being a dirty racer.

I went by her in a local St. Patrick's Day 10K (Torrance, maybe?) more than 10 years ago and she spat on me--caught me on the side of my calf. It was so gross and so uncalled for--I am a guy who's 13 or 14 years older than her and we were nowhere near the lead--that I assumed it was an accident...that she wasn't aware I was there.

But I have heard from others since then that this is par for the course for her, and I guess a few posters on this thread have heard the same thing.

"Athletes who have served suspensions related to PED use are not eligible to be part of the VCM Invited Runner Program nor are they eligible to win prize money at this event."

What if someone spikes your drink with some sort of drug/steroid. You get tested and you fail.. you get banned for 2 years and not only that.. you cannot receive prize money for any races that you win after the two years and as long as you live. Is this fair? Think about it.

Yes you can. Races need to protect themselves and their sponsor's reputations. It creates bad publicity for a sponsor (and the race) if they're paying a doper.

While the women she cheated out of prize money have still never received what they rightfully won if they had been running against clean competition.

Mary Akor has not paid back DamtoDam for prize money won there. For her to be racing and collecting paychecks again, without having first righting previous wrongs is a slap in the face to the sport and her fellow competitors.

You are completely wrong. Discrimination is only illegal towards "protected classes" of people. That would be race, color, gender, religion, national origin, age (>40), pregnancy, familial status, disability, veteran, and sexual orientation. It is totally within the law for a race director to exclude a cheater.

I don't buy the argument that just because someone "might" have taken some drug, that 99 percent of Americans do anyway and it doesn't help them in the least, just makes them worse actually, that they are stealing from someone. if that's true, she sounds like a miserable human being. Sounds to me that there should likely be some kind of sanction for that type of behavior, if observed and verified, that's spelled out in the race rules. As far as the doping goes, there obviously should be a graduated punishment, in the event of a second verified offense, and she should have been previously required to forfeit her prize money from previous races.
