She tried not to take the lead. Did you see how they practically slowed to a crawl. The announcer said Jane is control of this race, but anyone who has followed these two knows that Doris is in control. Jane will pace Doris until she is ready to take it. Every single time. It’s almost boring at this point. I had hoped she was learning and would have a different approach this time.

Like what? How exactly do you propose that Jane beat Doris? Sit and kick? That won’t work. If Jane isn’t pushing the pace, her only chance of beating Doris is if Doris trips and injures herself.
