BS DQ on Habtom, Langon should have been the only one DQ'd Habtom got shoved into him Sahlman.
This win will always have an asterisk for Sahlman, he is not the rightful winner.
watch the race again, Salman had it until Samuel pushed him. The 4 or 5 strides of windmilling it took Sahlman to get back on track allowed Samuel to catch and pass him. Its a pretty clear dq. Though I thought Langdon should also have been dq

They both lost their momentum but Habtom Samuel still outkicked him. Samuel would have won by even more if Langon didn't run into him.
What an amazing last 4 months for Sahlman: 16th in XC, collegiate indoor record in the 800m, devastating close to win the DMR, and 3k victory.
I remember there being a bunch of threads questioning his fit at NAU. His success is a testament to being patient with a young athlete’s development. He didn’t have the smoothest transition from high school to college, but look how he’s doing now.

You need to watch the race again. Habtom did not push Collin. Marco cut in on Habtom and Habtom protected his position from Marco. The contact from Marco forced Habtom to make slight contact with Collin. Habtom took the worst of the contact, being knocked into Collin by Marco, and he still blew them away. Habtom should be the champ. Marco can eat a whole bag.
Salhman had the lead. Langon was gunning to get the shoulder position on the backstrech in lane 2. Samuel knew he was about to get boxed in and if he did, was going to have a hard time getting around both of them side by side, especially on the curve. He smudged his way between both of them before a gap completely closed.
Langon noticed Samuel trying to hit the gap so he leaned back inside and made contact with Samuel who then ended up clipping Salhman's foot throwing off his momentum a tad. Langon was unsuccessful in blocking Samuel as he got thru just in time.
Whenever something like this happens, officials will usually DQ the person who tried to shoot the gap to avoid being boxed. Because Langon was slightly ahead when Samuel tried to do this, it was an easier call for the officials.

Sahlman got real lucky.
Who freaking cares. Sahlman has made his share of racing mistakes and had some bad luck in races. He owned this weekend.
Dirty Sam almost got away with it. He saw two guys pulling away from him and did the only thing he could to stop them. Push one and trip the other. Glad the officials DQd him. It will make him think twice about pulling something like that again.
