Did Mike Rossi (viral marathon dad) cheat his way into Boston?

I kind of agree, however, look at all the attention they are getting! I would guess more actual runners are going to run it if they actually DQ him than runners won't run it if they DQ him. Sure there are some hobby joggers who won't run it, but actual real runners expect and demand a DQ… Heck, Hal Higdon calling him out as a cheater is a pretty good indicator that he will be DQ's, Higdon pulls some weight in the Lehigh Valley running scene.. I say look for his time to just disappear from the results and the marathon just sits back and continues to receive traffic and interest over the whole story.

It's very easy to set specific pictures to "friends only." These guys are such drama queens. You've managed to make Rossi look like the more reasonable one; great job!

MR looks reasonable? So , if someone has a public opinion on another they need to go completely underground? Whether they are Public images or not makes no difference. MR has shown consistently his lack of character, this instance included.

Someone liking pictures that someone else posted and then the latter and a bunch of whiny bandwagonettes getting all up in arms about it makes the former, who simply liked a couple pictures seem reasonable.

This is about a guy who cheated in a race, not about some idiot thinking he's the next Chris Hansen.

You are almost correct. This is about a guy who cheated in a race. It's also about his personality and lack of ethics being a part of that faulty decision making. I can't disagree with you more about him looking reasonable . There is NOTHING that could make Mike look good here or anywhere . Another person posted that he has been continually harassed by MR since the beginning of this thread. I guess that's being reasonable as well.

Who posted this? I think many of us were under the assumption that MR was quiet since the scandal broke, not counting his intentionally picked color commentary on the Disney facebook group shared by Sara. Is he really harassing someone?!

So the Lehigh RD said a decision would be forthcoming by the end of May, did she say which year?

Wait, did they say they were going to make an announcement tonight? "End of the month" does not mean tonight for certain. They could also do nothing, and make no announcement, or just scratch him from the results, and not announce it.

If there's no DQ they may choose to not announce anything. Announcing they completed their investigation and but don't have grounds for a DQ validates him.

Maybe they're still trying to get their ducks in a row/sort through pictures and other evidence. Who knows. Yes, it'd be nice to have information from them, but whatever's going on I don't think harassing their Facebook page is helpful.

It didn't take a month of investigating for Hal Higdon, a public figure, to call Mike Rossi a sociopathic cheater, so no, there is no excuse for them not to have made the call by now! So, harass away at their Facebook, like this post now:

Part of the delay has to include the time that they give Rossi to reply and provide proof. And if he does submit some form of proof then they need to validate it's authenticity.

I don't think they can sweep this under the rug or it makes their whole race a joke with regards to getting a BQ. Everyone is going to run this race, or should I say "drive this race" and book their hotels for Boston.

But honestly I don't think we will get an announcement. If they DQ him his results will simply disappear and he'll get a letter in the mail. If they don't DQ all of Rossi's social media will become live again and he'll be shouting from the rooftops that "I TOLD YOU SO!".

So keep checking that results page.

Wrong, it is the most helpful thing if a DQ is a desired outcome.

I have a feeling that the RD of this marathon is like most people - she wants to slide by, doing as little as possible and trying to avoid any controversy. If everyone here just sits around quietly, no way are they going to do anything. There needs to be a public backlash to them not doing anything to prompt action.

You see this kind of thing all the time. Like the Ray Rice thing. if not for backlash, he would have had just the 2 game suspension or less. People can actually cause change in this world, but only if they do something - such as "like" a FB post. By definition, this is the very LEAST you can do.
