Did Mike Rossi (viral marathon dad) cheat his way into Boston?

In the photos I noticed lots of people got their photos taken before the race started, and this attention hound did not. Weird. I can't help but wonder if he checked in, got his chip, and then gave it to another runner to run the race, while he just casually walked away like he was just there dropping somebody off.

While previous races show there were no timing mats during the race, there was no way for Rossi to know that. It would just be an assumption and if he was wrong it would completely mess up his plan.

Has anybody looked into runners that started at the same exact time as Rossi and finished at roughly the same time? They probably would have finished a couple minutes after him since Rossi would have fresh legs.

I think he had an accomplice. I think he had somebody run the race with his chip in case they added more timing mats this year.

Is anybody going to the WXTU Anniversary Concert this Saturday? He will most likely be there handing out T-shirts or bumper stickers. He doesn't get to announce the acts because they let the full-time DJ's do that. Mike only fills in when somebody is sick or goes on vacation.

I'd be interested to see what he does when people start questioning him and he has no choice but to stand there and take it. Security won't throw somebody out because a DJ doesn't like the questions he's being asked. Will he lose his cool and take a swing at somebody?

Could have had somebody on a decent relay team carry his bib/tag, handoff at or after the last relay exchange. I've seen relay runners run the next leg or two with their slower buddies.Still it would have to be after the last picture spot for MR to not show up on ANY photos.Look at the relay team pictures to see a flopping bib in somebody's hand??? I am taken aback by the amount of hostility that my original post generated. I was very clear that there is compelling evidence that Mr. Rossi may have cheated. The point I was making is that there are two sides to the story. Race officials are in the best position to weigh up all of the evidence and they appear to have determined that Mr. Rossi is innocent. Mr. Rossi showed his integrity in the way he handled his children's absences from school and the people of America took to social media to support him. I find it hard to believe that he would disregard such high principles for the sake of a Boston Marathon qualifier when he was clearly talented enough to run one without cheating.

Wow. To answer an earlier question about this fence guy , this is obviously sarcasm. The RD has appeared to do nothing yet. Integrity and high principles are not words used to describe this guy.

Nope, you also clearly said there's evidence supporting that he did not cheat. Where is this evidence?

Whether one agrees with Mr, Rossi's position regarding taking his children out of school or not, Mr. Rossi did NOT display any integrity in the manner in which he handled it. He received the standard letter that I (as a resident of Abington Township), other school district residents, and even school board members receive their children miss school. His response was never sent to the school but rather posted to social media, which demonstrates his lack integrity, lack of common sense, sense of entitlement, and poor judgement, among many other non-positive attributes and characteristics. Moreover, the tone of the letter was sarcastic, as it started out as Dear Madam Principal.

I have no problem with him or anyone else taking their children out of school for whatever reason. But the lesson here is that when one does that, there are consequences, in this case, a letter, woohoo. In the grand scheme of life and school, an unexcused absence when in the 3rd grade is meaningless.

The supporting evidence is less tangible. I would say that his clear passion for the sport and his integrity (as discussed before) are indirect evidence of the fact he would not cheat. The odds have been discussed on this thread that he could miss all the cameras. I don't remember what they were, but they were far better than one in a million. People win the lottery every week with far worse odds than that. It is not impossible he cheated. If the marathon organizers said he did then I would support their decision. I am just respectful of the fact that they seem to have decided to let this matter drop as quietly as possible.

It's not IMPOSSIBLE that he did NOT cheat; however the chances are incredibly slim, like 1 in a million at best, i.e. there's a 0.0001% that he's innocent.

Our society and current judicial is willing to give someone a death sentence when he/she has far higher odds of being innocent. With respect to murder beyond a reasonable doubt is interpreted as roughly a 5% chance of being innocent.

For more petty crimes, the bar is much lower, so in this case if cheating in a marathon was a triable crime, he would most certainly be convicted.

This is why conspiracy theories exist, the weak minded. He cheated. It's obvious he cheated. Everyone knows he cheated, other than a few Mike Rossi Cheater deniers high on inhaling chemtrails.

And finally, he has no integrity and there is no evidence that he does. The exact opposite. There is plenty of evidence that he has none.

That's not evidence at all. In fact, this is actually more damning because someone who has a goal of a BQ would be more likely to cheat than someone who doesn't care about a BQ.

Hey Fence troll. A local friend of mine and running partner has posted his opinion on here a few times , Never attacked Rosie's family or kids and never concealed his identity. This is the first I posted but I have been following from the beginning. How is this for integrity? Over the past couple weeks Mr Ruiz has liked pictures of my friends 9 year old daughter on Facebook on several occasions. My friend , in good taste , hasn't spoken about it at all. I on the other hand think that Rosie is way out of bounds and seriously pegs the creepy meter!
