Walmsley 12th mile 11
He’s moving up! Go Walmsley!
They are running red lights!
This thread is better than the actual race coverage. Per usual.
Women's pack has broken away. Good to see the herd thinned a bit.

Emma Bates looks really comfortable. Would be awesome if she popped off a great race today.
Looks like she is out on a Sunday long run
Will the Tokyo marathon course be so hilly?
If not, why use this course to select the team?
The carnage is gonna be epic, kinda want Shrader to hold it together though!
Groner rocking that Tracksmith kit, pretty sick.
Mile 12 to 17 (coming up) look brutal on the elevation chart...should get very interesting. Shrader probably gassed by then.
It is really hard to watch this. It is such a low quality production and difficult to follow. No drama. No story or even story within a story. So many opportunities missed by these broadcasters to portray the race. This morning I watched Omloop Het Nieuwsblad in cycling (I watch many cycling races), and the contrast in production, commentary, content, and storytelling is stark. Definitely JV stuff compared to cycling. Disappointing and frustrating.
Awesome 90's flame replays!!!

It was going to be, but then they moved the race to Sapporo, which will be flat.
Emma Bates just has the most beautiful relaxed running form. Amazing to watch.
If any race begs for sunglasses, it is this one. Seems like the glare would be wearing for Hall and others.

Time for Jim Walmsley to make his move!
Why wouldn't they talk about the flame lighting BEFORE the race?!?
Bates, Sisson and Thweatt all look very comfortable up front.
what is wrong with Hall's neck? Why is her head always tilted back?
Shrader looking like he is burping vomit. DNF maybe.
