I don't care much about Walsmley, but I don't think I can name a top MLB player who hasn't spent some time in AAA. And lest you say, that's before they were top MLB players, lots of guys spend time in AAA as "tune-ups" coming off injury or break. If Walmsley actually were treating this as a tune-up (he probably wasn't), your distinction doesn't make a whole lotta sense to me.

There are something like 1000 active big league MLB players. The minimum wage is something like $400k. Imagine if the 1000th fastest marathoner in the world got paid $400k.
