What are the Americans thinking? If you are borderline sub 2:10 or so guy and are in the race with guys who have ran 2:04, then you definitely should be letting them do the work and just draft behind. I mean, there are considerable energy savings when drafting, so what do you get by leading in front.

Or is it just for TV coverage and sponsorship opportunities. Showing up in the front for some time and then bonking and finishing 15th..

We need to come up with a calculator that adjusts the Boston splits for elevation.

Degefa ran 15 in 5:34, 16 in 5:13. 15 is uphill, 16 downhill.

Yet the announcers sort of freak when they see the 5:34.

Drafting doesn't matter especially when you have a cross/tailwind

Remember Meb? You aren't going to beat 204 guys in a normal race, you have to do something different and if that means going early, at least Ward is taking a shot.
