Absolutely nothing new has been added since day 2, nothing more than speculation and the ding dongs here have basically laid the groundwork to make sure Rossi will never be DQ'd.

Memes are important to the 18 and under crowd.

What I like best is several posters (or one in reality) want to compare Mike Rossi to Rosie Ruiz because maybe or maybe not running or whether he was capable of a 3:11 is the same thing as cheating to win the Boston Marathon.

Usually with these cheating threads a relative, friend, running partner, etc will post in defence of the cheater (even when the evidence is overwhelming like this one) and also identify themselves to eliminate any troll accusations.

Fairly damning that no one's identified themselves and come to Mike's defence with evidence or a character reference.

You are right. That's because we aquaintences of MR, who are also runners, had doubts about this qualifying race but honestly never took the time or energy to look into it further. However, when allegations arose to remind us, it made perfect sense to us.

The memes are pretty much when I went from "bury the cheat at all costs" to "I hope he doesn't get DQ'd".

I ran a 1:36 plus half in October, almost the same age as him. I was averaging 45 mpw with nagging tendinitis. Even with a few long runs, a pr of 2:38 years earlier, I wasn't going to be able to double that and pull off a 3:12 and I can easily admit that.

In shape, with uninjured training for 6 months, yes...but not with what I described above and I've been running since I was 15.

Did he do it? Not likely.

Soooo where is the Letsrun post about Mike Rossi?? I thought Rojo was writing an article about it, but I haven't seen anything from him since Friday

I'll sum it up for you:- Evidence remains overwhelmingly in favor of the fact MR cheated- Waiting for LVM to issue the DQ- MR or friend(s) of MR have been posting under various usernames calling this a mob lynching and claiming his innocence (which astounds me)- There's a meme generator to help pass the time while waiting for the BQ declaration- Confusion still remains as to why no LRC article on this yet

There have been some good summaries, SaraB's spreadsheet should win an award.

What I like best about his supporters from saved screen shots who say that those looking into this must be jealous. Ha hah! that is so funny.

I'll agree that people posting their memes in here is getting old. As are everyone sharing their spectacular race results in comparison.As for causing me to change my mind on him getting DQ'd, um, not a chance. Someone could post a picture of him saving a box full of puppies from a burning building and I would feel the same way. He is an arrogant d-bag who cheated and threw an innocent school administrator under the bus for the sake of the spotlight, that DQ better be coming down soon. LVM is losing credibility every day they wait in light of the overwhelming (non)photographic evidence here.

I'm somewhat in the same boat. Though the stalwart defenders will disagree, there is a big difference to me between thoroughly gathering the evidence to be able to make a case that Mike did or did not run the race vs. being childish and wishing ill-will upon Mike.

And this coming from someone who thinks he is a complete as$-hat. Don't make him able to play up the victim card any more than he already would by being needlessly puerile.
