Part of the waiver Mike Rossi would have had to sign off on to enter the Lehigh Valley Marathon:
"I agree to abide by any and all rulings of event officials, even if such ruling results in my disqualification. I have read and understand the rules set forth by the USTAF pertaining to long distance running and agree to abide by them."
At this point, I'm sure they are just making sure all their ducks are in a row before they DQ him!
I'm surprised that Mike Rossi isn't on Strava considering how he likes attention. He would love getting kudos for every single run. Although it would probably only be 3 runs a week.

How dare you. MR put in the hard work to do things you never dreamed of, including 1000 miles in 18 months, in addition to Kipping a marathon!

Watch your mouth mister. Our hero is known for its high mileage weeks. His 15 miles per week are carefully organised as follows:
Monday - social network day, posts on twitter, strava, instagram, and facebook. no less than 2 hrs.
Tuesday - easy day, 3 miles in 30 minutes.
Wednesday - AM WORKOUT OF THE DAY - "SPEED" aka 3 miles @ 8:00.
Wednesday - PM COVERAGE OF WORKOUT OF THE DAY on social networks
Thursday - recovery day, 3 miles in 35 minutes.
Friday - day off - FAMILY TIME AM, COVERAGE OF FAMILY TIME PM
Saturday - easy day, 3 miles in 30 minutes.
Sunday - Long run day. 3 miles planned, BUT 6 miles total! Why? Because miles are earned, never given. Never given.
He will soon write a book about his amazing training methods.

1) Yes, some lynch mobs harm people physically and others do less damage (or less obvious physical damage). The note that they are "all the same" should not be taken too literally - which I think that you know without me saying so. It is meant as something more like "Lynch mobs all have the same mentality and human dynamic built into them. One predictable aspect is that they will justify their actions in sanctimonious terms..." I used the shorthand which I assumed (incorrectly) would be understood.
2) This mob is not everyone on the thread. Just like the destructive mobs in Baltimore did not constitute everyone participating in protests in Baltimore. There are several on here who have done some good investigative work and established the truth. My hat is off to this crowd. There are several others who constitute nothing more than an Internet lynch mob as Bad Wigins correctly pointed out.

I'd reply in a couple ways - I haven't been connected to this thread closely so maybe I've missed some bad behavior that deserves censure.
but
I'd also say that calling truth tellers 'sanctimonious' is a cheap way to discredit them. In this case, I would call the truth tellers honorable - they aren't making a SHOW of things when they are truly just as bad as the target (Rossi). (which is what 'sanctimonious' implies)
What I've seen is people working at the truth...calling them sanctimonious isn't fair.
I thought the funniest tweet was with the weather forecaster where he tweeted: "Thanks for the perfect weather!" the day after LV marathon. In my experience, warm and sunny weather is nice for relaxing at the beach, but not for running.
If you go to the Via Marathon's FB page, you can see that they posted a picture from the start of the race.
If you then enter one of the bib numbers from the picture you will determine that it was taken about :05 before our guy crosses the line. If you zoom in on the far side and back of the photo, you can see a guy with MR's hat and sunglasses.
I would love to know who took that picture and if they took anymore shots during the next 10 seconds or so.

If this guy was 1/100th of the inspirational hero he paints himself as he could have run Boston for a charity. With his social media footprint he could have exceeded well in excess of the required amount and actually have done some good for someone.
But that would have raised awareness of something other than himself so he cheated and screwed over a principle instead.

Just a quick observation of his finish pic. I know when I sweat and I wear a blue, red, or any dark colored shirt I have white marks, from the salt in my sweat, where the dry parts of my shirt and wet parts meet. Certainly for me I would have those white salty marks on my shirt, especially given the temps. Thoughts??

Boston has pretty much become a joke but after a bombing people compare the experience like it was the Olympics. The standards are so watered down that qualifying isn't a big deal but if you really, really want to run you can just pay for it.
Teaching a lesson...really? After this thread has 5000+ posts who is getting taught a lesson?
Cutting courses and cheating account for well less than .25% of all finishers but going to these lengths to make sure others don't cheat is reasonable? A much higher number of runners over 40 are on Andro-Gel, that's cheating. You would reach far more cheaters going after them.

I would second what Greg wrote based on my personal experience, although I didn't come from a "240lb couch potato" perspective. I ran my first marathon in Nov 1986 after really only starting run training summer 1985. Over those ~18 months I was only running 40-50 mpw Aug-Nov (both years) and outside that window I had lots of 15-20 mile weeks and a few random 50 mile weeks. I was doing a lot of training for Nordic skiing, cycling, roller skiing, hill bounding, weights, lots of good aerobic work but not a lot of running. My training logs show about 1800 miles over that period, three 200+ mile months, nine months under 100 miles. I ran 3:12. Fuel? A couple pop tarts before the race, Gatorade and water on the course. Oh and the night before I drank a few beers with a college buddy and slept on the floor of my cousin's dorm room at Northeastern...and they had a bunch of fire alarms. Young and dumb, that was me to a tee!
I didn't have the miles in or the long runs, and if you knew me you'd know I certainly don't have any talent, but what I did have was a high percentage of hard miles and the belief that I was going to run a fast race (fast for me). Plus I'm pretty good at suffering without giving in.
The difference between Rossi and me in terms of is a 3:11-3:12 plausible is that I was running sub 18 for 5k, sub 29 for 5 miles. Plus I was 21 years old. Plus I had done a bunch of 25k and 50k ski races with good times, Plus after my debut marathon I backed it up for the next 10 years.

It does look like him at the expected start time.

No, that's not what we're trying to establish. We know this already. We're trying to find a picture that shows what he was doing immediately after he crossed the start line.
