Did Mike Rossi (viral marathon dad) cheat his way into Boston?

There are plenty of 47 year olds who can run sub 20 minutes for 5K, just like there are plenty who can run sub 3 hours for the marathon. However, if you have a runner who clearly cheated in one race, then it elevates the possibility that he cheated at other races. And just because you can easily run sub 22 minutes for 5K does not mean that Mike Rossi can.

Maybe it was a terrible post, but are there honestly people out there who can run a 3:25 marathon who can not run a sub 22 min 5K?

And on topic: Rossi definitely cheated.

I was comparing the two more on their notoriety and regard within their respected sports, though also I guess you've got me there because almost all non-runners know who Palmer is, but perhaps 50% or more runners do not know who Bart Yasso is.

So for the sake of solving it for you: I know a good deal about running, very little about golf, and am admittedly poor at making analogies.

Uninterrupted sequential photos and no sign of him. Just to confirm - all runners were photographed on this bridge who finished the course within any kind of reasonable range around the time with which Rossi was credited? No one else was missed? That seems to be one of the hardest pieces of evidence. Lots of other good stuff, but that's excellent. Nice work.

don't those photo #s indicate there are more photos?

i.e. 6-567, 6-570, 6-574, 6-577

doesn't that mean there are also 6-568,569,571,572,573,575,576 also ?

if the photographer saved them still that could either nail the coffin or be the missing photo?

IF, and it seems unlikely, but IF a photo came forward of him on the course, would people reconsider? or just convert allegation into EPO?

Maybe. When I ran my first marathon in 3:24:50, I'd never run a 5k, but I'd done a 10k in 44:xx and a 5-miler in 34:xx. But part of that was probably not knowing how hard to push in shorter races. So I guess it's feasible.

Can you provide evidence?

We will need:

Birth certificates for both you and your husband.

Passports or drivers licenses of both you and your husband

Marriage license proving that were legally married.

Tax documents proving that you are currently married

DNA evidence obtained from each arm and the body to prove that they are indeed his arms.

Recent x-ray/MRI/CAT Scan showing that the arms are attached and have never been removed and reattached.

The article is def taking way too long. I just hope he mentions the guy with the dog. In fact, I think there's something to that fiasco... the key to the ultimate smoking gun is probably in that video while that guy earthslams his dog.

You use an example of a race where there are 4 splits in addition to Finish times...... I also ran this race and I'm in roughly 10 photos so I disagree that it's on the race to prove he had not run it. Let's just be honest here.... he most likely parked near the start.... ran to his car drove to 2 -3 miles from the finish and hopped back in after a stop at Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts !! LOL

But, I have strong doubts that the poster was a real person. As if we needed any other reason, most people will tell you that if you fall off pace in a marathon, you tend to continue to fall further off pace. If I dropped someone at mile 20, I would not expect them to finish anywhere near me.

He definitely shared news stories once it went viral, but he is claiming that he had no part in getting the media interested in the first place.
