Huh? Usually running up at the front is a result of speed. The guys that take it out fast are the quick ones, think Solomon and Rudisha, who like 49.xx first laps. They are the quick guys that likely have the worst endurance. Slower guys don't like a super fast first 400, because it's just too close to their 400 ability.

More endurance oriented guys like Symmonds tend to run from the back because 49.xx is just too fast.

Great race by Denzebe based on those times. 14:34 is pretty impressive. She's quite young, isn't she? Maybe she'll get some other world records this summer.

Ridiculous how these feeds use the same universal feed that will cut to the field events every time there is a throw. The problem here is that fans lose interest because there are way too many interruptions involved.

Agreed for men, but does the same hold for women? If that were the case then Vessey would be leading from the gun in every race. I don't think Brenda should lose contact like she does. She doesn't have the speed to make up the distance she gives up.

The high jump is so competitive this year. Barshim 2.41 now as well. Ukhov, Bondarenko and Barshim all 2.41 this year. The World Record should be in reach.
