Yes or no: Did you enjoy it when you saw Birmingham blow by Rupp??

Yeah guys cool, root for the foreigner and not the American. You guys have no reason to hate Rupp so stfu

But, Rupp is a foreigner. He looks good. He acts weird. His life is only about one thing, running. Actually, Rupp is most probably a mechanical-droid.

Toasted, I would love to root for Rupp. But actually I don't think of the nationality when rooting for track athletes in early season tuneup meets. Rupp is not a likeable guy for many fans. The Indoors fiascos this year didn't help the situation. I root for individuals, likeable, hard working, David vs. Goliath type athletes= guys and gals who can overcome the obstacles. I root for many Americans, and especially guys like Lomong and Meb. Both incredible stories, both likeable guys. The Oxy meet in May of an off-Worlds or Olympic year doesn't warrant my -USA, USA chant response.

There's a saying in Aussie athletics, "on a scale of 1 to Collis how fit are you?"

Beating Rupp in this race doesn't necessarily mean he is suddenly top shelf, nor does it spell the demise of Rupp. It means Collis has learned a new trick, he learned how to race.

Nah, it wasn't too enjoyable. The last lap wasn't really scintillating... although Rupp did lay it down from 600 out. I'd like to have seen Rupp firing on all cylinders and lose. Birmingham beat Rupp on an off day.

I have to say that I did respect Galen shaking Birminghan's hand though. It did not come from Salazar, whoever was saying that Salazar wanted Rupp to do that for public relations reasons is way off... Salazar cares nothing about image... if anything, I'd be more inclined to say that Rupp is finally starting to mature a little.

Rupp didn't look particularly smooth. It was a relatively slow race (partly due to wind, I understand). You'd expect

Birmingham to PR later (I think he can go 13:05 this year).

Rupp might be in a different phase than B. and so I think it

is premature to conclude that he is toast.

We can draw some conclusions in 2 months time.

Nobody sprints through the line in a distance race. Even a strong kick doesn't qualify as sprinting.

Yes, because a runner who would otherwise be beaten will suddenly decide that he is able to "shoot right past" Rupp just because Rupp looked at him. Good point.
