Collis Birmingham After Going by Galen Rupp
The big news was Galen Rupp getting beat in the final race of the night as Collis Birmingham of Australia just ran by Rupp the final 100m to win in 13:18.
In early action, the hotly anticipated women’s 800m did not disappoint as Brenda Martinez got the narrowest of wins over Maggie Vessey in a tremendous homestretch battle. Both Martinez and Vessey negative split the race with Martinze just passing Vessey before the line to win in 1:59.91 to 1:59.96. Kate Grace won the 2nd section of the 800.
Dan Huling blasted an 8:17.00 US leader to dominate the steeple.
Elijah Greer beat Robby Andrews in the 800.
Matt Centrowitz won his heat of the 1500 in a US leader and Jordan McNamara crushed the field in his heat the final 30m.
Shannon Rowbury won the 5000 with a big last lap as Jordan Hasay was their until 300m to go.
