The third sentence in my last post should say problem, not probably.
One issue I have with the article that hasn't been mentioned is Marc Bloom's contention that "It was a display of Cheserek’s character, which is evidently as wondrous as his remarkable running ability".
How does purposely not trying as hard as you can in a race show character in a good way as Bloom implies. It would be insulting to the race and to Futsum and if Cheserek really did what Bloom thinks, it should have had the opposite reaction from Bloom. Seeing as how it is unlikely Cheserek did purposely run slower, the only reaction should have been, WOW, what a great race by two great high school runners.
