In all-women races. Iaaf rules on World Records Rule 148(e) specifically states "No performance set by an athlete will be recognised if it has been accomplished during a mixed competition"

I believe the same thing happened to Tony Young at the Pre meet the same year Webb broke Ryun's H.S. mile record. I had heard that Tony tried to get into that mile but Tom Jordan wouldn't let him in. I am convinced TY would have broken 4:00 that day.

How come most of the CAL 400/800 runners never run the mile? I think day are not good runners over 800 meters.
The extra miles interfere with beach time.

While it would be difficult to set the masters record, I think that crossfit and atomic situps for core would do wonders for turnover. These exercises are much more effective for masters. Also, do you think Blanka Vlasic can do atomic situps?
