Just remember he obviously avoided it two weeks ago in North Carolina. Idk if that’s Cooper-specific or Harris is just a sore loser.
Harris has actually always been a sore loser and a runner who shoves and cuts off people, always unnecessarily physical — the Olympic Trials video from track level showing him going from the inside of lane 1 out to lane 4 and physically blocking Jewett, and then refusing a handshake from the always chill Jewett after was just removed from Youtube - probably because Harris saw it posted here a couple of weeks ago. Not to forget Harris at Nats one year when he viciously cut off Murphy attempting to teip him. Murphy ran the last 100m on pure hate and mowed Harris down. And a couple of weeks ago Harris did an about face to avoid shaking Cooper’s hand. He’s just one of those guys.
Allegedly Brooks had the video removed, stating that it was video from a copyrighted program etc. It was someone’s personal video from track level. Harris’ behavior was rather poor, physically interfering with Jewett and then shaking his head and blowing off Jewett when Jewett went for a handshake. The way Harris was staring daggers at Murphy and Hoey after the race was hilarious.
Here’s an amusing story about more of Harris’ fouling adventures… it rivals his attempt to trip Murphy at Nats, it was obviously written by someone not too familair with English which makes it funnier:

Always good to win a national title but this was a very soft field. I get the impression he has not been aiming to be in top shape this winter. Should be competitive at world indoors even not in peak shape.

from interviews the focus is definitely outdoors, but agreed he's a strong contender. Great opportunity to measure up against Crestan, English, Attaoui et al
Just watched the video of the race. One thing that really stands out to me is how much of a boy he looks like among men. It's extraordinary how developed the guys around him are comparatively. I genuinely shudder to think what he's gonna do once he grows.
Also, his tactics could still use a lot of work. Noticed a lot of things that he only really got away with because of his level of talent. Curious to see how much of that he'll get away with in Poland with 3(?) rounds.

To me, he doesn’t look that way at all. He’s as big as Hoey and Hoppel and much bigger than Colin Sahlman. If you’re right, does that mean he’ll run 1:38 someday?

Who knows. We sure as hell have never seen a 16 year old run 1:42.2!
You can tell it killed Harris to do that, look at his expression 🤣. He reads the board, that’s how he knows everyone was on to him. That’s how that vid of him and Jewett was yanked from Youtube after it was up for a year and a half with no problems.

6’1” 155lbs isn’t huge. If you actually have seen him in person he looks like an average but very skinny 17 year old. You’re comparing him to a bunch of other guys who also look on the scrawny side in person. And your jealousy of the kid has been on display here more than once. 😂

Many others have been pointing this out the past three weeks or so. Outdoor races are where we will see how he stacks up this year.
Surely he has a 50+% chance of winning Worlds. Who else is up there? Crestan?
I'd give him 30%, good chance he shows up as the fittest, but randomness of races (3 rounds) + tactics can cost him the win. I think Crestan has a 35%, Cooper 30%, Attoui 20%, field 15% or so

Sahlman is the skinniest 800 guy I've ever seen so that's not the fairest of comparisons.
