She ran really well. Judging by how well NB Boston women typically improve in years 2/3, is be really bullish about her as someone who can hit sub-4 really soon and maybe 3:55 in not too long. That definitely gives you a chance.

Cranny posted on IG today an explanation for her performance at USA indoors: she got sick after racing in Germany, raced after that when not fully recovered, and again at indoors still not feeling 100%.

She then says she's looking forward to the summer with racing...wonder if that means we won't see her race again til then.

I feel like everyone always has something to blame for not winning, sickness, injury, new coaching, sick kids at home.

It was a tactical 8:30/31 at least. They closed in 2:07/2:08 final 800 respectively. Have to think if Elle gets someone to pull her along like Tsegay did sub 8:25 wouldn’t be shocking

Advice to Cranny and M11, whom both posted the excuse that Cranny had the sniffles: This was poor form. Just take the L with humility and congratulate ESP and Mackay.

Every athlete has their obstacles to overcome leading up to a championship. Making the “I was sick, so that's why I lost” excuse just lacks grace.

By my best calculations, Mackay closed her final 1500m in 4:03. Insane.

It goes to show the ups and downs of the racing season. Just a couple months ago at USATF Cross Country:

Mackay looked flat ---> wins Indoor 3000m title in meet record

Wiley looked flat --- > wins Indoor 800m title in PB

Appleton looked flat ---> takes 3rd in Indoor 3000m

Hurta-Klecker looked strong ---> fails to make the 800m final at Indoors

Annika Reiss looked strong ---> takes 9th in Indoor 3000m

as well as Shelby H DNSing the 3000 . . .

Being a Nike athlete, she'll race Pre on July 4th (on the country's 250th anniversary; what a day for the Pre Classic!).

Then USAs July 23 - 26.

However, European DLs begin June 4/Rome followed by June 7/Stockholm, June 10/Oslo, June 28/Paris. Not to mention any number of CT Gold/Silver races during that time.

Baring injury, look to see the M11 crew open up then . . . with Elise staying in Europe until Pre.

Given what Elise just revealed about her health status as well as being only a few months into her intercontinental transition, maybe you should realize you never should have posted that comment.

Advice to you: stating illness is simply an explanation for a sub-par performance, not an excuse for not winning.
