3:36 to 3:29 for a 22 year old 5000/10000m runner moving down to the 1500m is not even comparable to Nguse dropping 5 seconds in 12 months at age 24.
Narve didn't even run a 1500m in 2021. In May of last year he ran 3:36.23 and easily won the race, sandwiched between a 10000m and a 5000m. So if he had ran more 1500m races last year, even while a 5000/1000m runner, he likely would have ran a bit faster.
He is 24 but I believe Coevetts argument still holds. Narve was a halfmarathon/10k runner and has now moved down due to Gjert Ingebrigtsens believing him to have potential at this distance.. And now Gjert has more time to "only" focus on Narve since he is not coaching his own kids anymore.

Part of the nonstop liars argument was, Nordas is 2 years younger than Nuguse. That's wrong.
Nordas is more suspicious than Katir and any Kenyan. And so also Ingebrigtsen.

I think the is relevant. For Americans, it's almost like thinking of Nordas as a first year pro. Gjert said he hadn't given Nordas sufficient attention in previous years, but that was also because Nordas was focussing on his studies. It seems that both Gjert and Nordas are all-in this year.
Far, far, away. So Gjert suddenly started doping him? Last year, and none of the years before? Narve stagnated. He thought that he would get close to 13:00 on 5000. In early 2021 Narve became 5th in EChamp indoors with a great last 1000, a bit over 2.22. Everybody thought, here is the guy. But he did not improve very much. He was studying and lacked sponsors.
13.16 on 5000 in 21. 13.15 in 22. He was on the verge of giving it all up. He ran a 3.36.23 1500, though last year he thought that 3.33-3.34 was within his reach, ran a 3.56-mile in 2020. After the break with his sons Gjert really could consentrate on Narve. And Narve, last year, got the sponsors he needed and was able with full dedication to do specific 1500-training. Never did that before. And with his work ethics; he is raised in an area where the protestant mind still is highly appriciated, he became much better in training; fall 22 and winter 23. It is impossible to defend oneself when the doping accusations, however abstract they are - just write 7 seconds down in one season then one must be on drugs. And then the accusations will accelerate, because this was not an opitmal race from him. He will get better. He started with 57.7 at the first 400, 2 sec behind Jakob, but finished with the last 500 sub 1.08.

Yeah its important to take in all factors, especially the background info given here that he only last year got sponsors. Lets not accuse everyone of doping because they see progress.
The americans here are used to the likes of Drew Hunter and Parsons who just can't cut it, why I don't know.. Maybe focus less on designing t-shirts and more on training hard&smart.
Norway has the best sport science institute and Olympic national program in the world, oil money surplus enough to spill on it, and national unity behind it (meaning no different shoe companies and training groups working against each other for sponsorship resources).
Different take: Think of it as their coaches all have access to the best coaches of coaches. Just imagine what the best American coaches could do if he had free access to 500 other coaches that were just as good - AND they all had access to the best legal sports science in a national center that doesn't prefer one brand of shoes over others like Nike does in the US.
Norway's just getting started in the summer area - remember they've already WON the medal count in the Winter Olympics more than once.
This is not true. Not true as in not the reason behind the success.
You all have the information they use. Their training is out there, its just you americans cannot comprehend using lacatate meters, double treshold, not focusing on long runs etc. Look at Josh Kerr (I know, not American) or Kyle Merber (I know, retired). Josh try to avoid doubles as much as possible because...its boring. Kyle never did according to himself and was top 5-6 1500m runner in the US.
Runners dont train enough and smart enough. Double, everyday, controlled intensity, stop with hard long runs. Copy their program, do it for 3+ years and see.

Narve was NOT a 10000m / half marathon runner… (You can call him a 800m runner -1.58 at 16 years old -using the same logic…)
Narve was and is a 1500 / 3000 / 5000m runner who now priorities the 1500… He has in between his main events done some experiments some years ago (on hobby jogger level) with the half marathon (1.08 -1.09 -1.04.57) and a year or two more seriously on the 10000m (but no sub 28). When Gjert refers to Narve as coming down from 10000m / half marathon he clearly means down from a mindset -that he thought he had to go in that direction (due to lack in talent for 1500/3000/5000m).- Not describing his training or overall priorities…
Narve broke through as an athlete in mars 2021 in the 3000m (fifth in the European indoor championships), and then 13.15 in the 5000m -no half marathon or 10000m worth mentioning at all…! (But 3.39 -2020 and 3.36 -2022 in the 1500m).
Fun fact: Narve has called himself “totally without talent”, but now he talks about beating Jakob in the 1500m!

This effectively means he's talking about winning top tier races, because if you beat JI chances are you're winning. It's great to see that his mindset has shifted so dramatically away from impostor syndrome and towards confidence in his own abilities.
However, he was 8th place yesterday so there are a lot of sharp elbows between him and Jakob for the time being. The good thing is that a 3.29 will open doors to more DL events and great learning experiences.
It's also good to know that Gjert's relentless demand for discipline will keep him on track.
Just going to point out that this time last year, Yared Nuguse's PB was 3:34.68, so he's dropped 5.63 seconds in a single year. And he's the same age as Nordas.
I don't think either are cheating but both have extraordinary performance jumps.

Sorry but this is incorrect.
Narve has trained for 5 and 10 000m. Other races has proven him to be a better runner for shorter distances, and in the last two years they have chanced his training to fit 1500m. Gjert does not refer to his mindset, but his focus in competition and in workouts. If you had known the details of the training you too would see there is quite a few differences due to this change of preferred distance.
Narve always calls himself a talentless runner, but everyone just laughs, he clearly have (and its been visible for years) a huge talent.

I can't tell if Gjert meant to refer to his mindset or not, but i suppose Narve wasnt a 1500m runner.
And re the talentless - its nonsense even if it comes from himself.
Its regarding his training. Obviously the mindset is always part of sports and have to change as well, but his qualities have changed because of changes in their training program, more serious training by Narve and more focus on Narve (which Narve himself has said to be important, the program is tailored around him now) following the brothers departure from Gjert.
And yes, its funny but he just cant seem to admit to himself that he actually is quite a huge talent. Like many others in sports who see runners not training hard enough and then come to the conclusion its not talent, but hard work, but at the same time forgetting how quickly they themself improve and all others not improving at that rate even though they train hard. For example, Narve does train with another talented runner, how talentless is he then, if he doesnt run as fast as Narve?:)
