Athing Mu capped the most dominant year by a female American distance runner ever with another American record.

Courtney Frerichs ran 8:57.77 to smash her American record and become the first American women sub 9 in the steeplechase.

Thompson-Herah was just .05 off FloJo's "world record." Jamaica swept the top-3 with SAFP (10.73) and Shericka Jackson (10.76) while Richardson was dead last in 11.14. Also a who's who of men's distance running over 2-miles and solid sprint results from Noah Lyles (200m) and Andre De Grasse (100m).

For the first time in 1,182 days, the Prefontaine Classic will be held at Hayward Field and this may be the best one in history.
