We catch up with the NAU senior who's raised himself to a completely different level this fall, going from a collegian who hasn't made an NCAA outdoor meet to a US champion and American record holder. He also says he's undecided about taking his $20k prize money and turning pro or finishing out his NCAA career (he has indoor & outdoor left).
Huddle won with the a comfortable 13-second lead over Emily Sisson while NAU All-American Shrader won in a sprint finish with Diego Estrada and Aaron Braun. Huddle and Christo Landry finish the year as the overall USARC series winners.

They talk about the improtance of the USA Road Circuit prize money in supporting developing elites, the 12K distance and Huddle and Landry going for history by winning 4 US titles in one year.
Hall is the overall leader despite never winning a USARC race this year, but only 2-points ahead of Molly Huddle and Brianne Nelson.
Huddle talks about being a pre-race worrier, running the marathon before 2016 and her season which included an American Record at 5000 and 4 US titles.
Landry has had a dream year with US titles at 10k, 10 mile and 25k plus a marathon PB.
Braun is in good shape for this race as it is the focus of his fall season. He plans on doing his second marathon this winter or spring after his debut in March was a total bust (2:19:51).

Braun faces a slew of elites including Ben True, Christo Landry, Diego Estrada, Girma Mecheso and Sean Quigley. Huddle will face Kim Conley, Sara Hall, Janet Bawcom and more.
$100,000 will be on the line.
Brian Shrader: “I’m pretty speechless. I just tried to stay in contention with guys like Diego and Aaron. I think I just got lucky at the end. I have indoor eligibility left (at Northern Arizona), so that’s what is next for me. I’ve never even made NCAA Outdoors before, so I’m still kind of in shock about today. I haven’t won a race in a while. Never run a 10K or a 12K before.”
