So a week ago I just started back on hard workouts, feeling great. Saturday I decided to run up to school because I left my truck up there. After running about 5 miles on pavement, I felt a severe cramping pain in my peroneal muscles and also had intense lateral foot pain. I was limping the rest of the day. I took time away the past week, started biking because that doesn't hurt.
I notice that it hurts mainly when extending my calf upward (like a push off motion) and hurts the most right as I'm fully extended with weight on one leg, as if you were doing a calf raise. Aching pain along the peroneal muscles also follows any mentionable amount of activity on this leg. What do you think this is and what do you think is the best course of action to get healthy for track season?
I know I haven't given a great amount of detail, but this is the baseline report based on the incident/symptoms. Please ask any relevant questions you have.
