This winter season I'm going to be racing mostly the 1000m and the mile. However, I struggle with my splits for my 1000m, I fade out in the 3rd/4th lap. Then I have a lot left for the final lap, usually having a 8 second difference between my 4th 200m and my last. Is there a different strategy I can use to race? My splits from my last race, which I was not happy about, were 34, 36,38, 40, 32. I know it's not fast, but I'd like to break 2:55 this season.
