So we are clear, everyone understands that without the NCAA , track and field as a sport in our country would die. For any collegiate track and field athlete who is getting a scholarship, the NCAA is a GREAT deal.

You get your education paid for to compete in a sport that no one pays to watch and does not generate any revenue. It is a tremendous deal. The only kids getting "screwed" by the NCAA are a very small pool of men's football and basketball players at 10-15 schools nationwide. For everyone else it is a hell of a deal getting a free education to play a sport.

It is not fair to Georgia to lose a scholarship for a season. If they say ok to her competing, then somebody will do it again next year and athletes at other schools will do it too. It’s kind of like paying a down payment to a builder to have a house built and then they walk away from the deal to build a house for somebody else and they keep your down payment. At least if you have a clause in the contract that says they can’t build another house for a year, they would probably not walk away with your money. Georgia paid Davis her down payment the first semester and now she is trying to walk away with it.

The coach can't stop Tara from getting blackout drunk 4 times a week and smoking pot every night. They can't babysit her in the dining hall to make sure she stays away from fried food. The coaches probably yelled at Tara a lot in practice for not giving good enough effort, and that's probably why she wants to transfer.

Petros is the most educated coach in the NCAA by a wide margin. You don't win national championships without "intense training" you fool. His athletes don't get injured, and pretty much all of them perform their best at the end of the season.

So if I tally this up right my daughter is an out of shape pot smoking drunken diva that is an underachieving all American, that was responsible for UGA losing a championship by a point.

Actually sounds like a reason to get her closer to family to help with all those issues.

Parents are always the last to find out. I hope she can get clean and lose the 20 pounds during the next year that she will be in a training mode.

Oh yeah forgot about that one. Thank you for reminding me. Man it’s hard to keep up with all of these. Wait please explain how that was fraud again when it is allowable to sign multiple scholarships offers as a transfer. It is not an NLI that is signed as a HS athlete.

Fraud can be the legal type or the moral type. If I tell a girl at a bar that I am single, I am a fraud even though I have not broken the law.

Parents are the last to find out when the head coach won't pick up the phone and recommend that they pull their daughter out of school for treatment.

The NCAA spends more than 6 million annually on drug screening and education at the DI, D2 level. They clearly need to spend more time at UGA

UGA must have its own program, but it hasn't left the crib yet (or maybe it was designed to fail).

Inspector Gadget has solved the case. The coach said that he wouldn’t release her. Wow she could have just asked the coach prior to going to Texas or going online. Heck even Gadget figured it out in 5 minutes. Seems like she has moved on to mounting an NCAA wide protest in her defense.

She's not being criticized for merely wanting to transfer. She's being criticized for trying to assemble a social media army by throwing a pity party about a release understandably not being granted at semester.
