I'd guess it's about 4 minutes behind, they started around 6:05

Anyone have a stream in English?
Pacer hits 20k in 59:18. They'll need to pick it up in the second half if they want the huge $$$ sub-2:04 bonus
Dejene Debela looks huge compared to the other runners
Half marathon shocker...winning time of 58:59 in the half marathon!! The Eritrean, Kibrom won it. Never heard of him before.
Mutai
An Adidas sponsored runner
Wearing Nike Vaporflys
Interesting
Am I seeing this right?
I'd love to see Emmanuel Mutai's contact. It's bizarre to me. They didnt' even mention him in the press release but they ahve a camera following his every move.
Anyone speak Arabic? How are the commentators? This thing looks amazing so far.
1) No commercials. 2) No shots of recreational runners. Pure action.
I hope they are used to doing track as it would be hard to fill 2 hours unless you were knoweldgable.
Halfway in exactly 62:30. Maybe 62:29 for a few guys.
Emmanuel Mutai hits halfway in 63:29. 1 minute back.
Does sub 59 in the half get a huge prize money pay out like the sub 2:04 marathon?
Adidas is letting mutai run in the nike vapors for this race only as he is chasing alot of money. (Pretty sweet of adidas for doing this)

Someone said it earlier in this thread. If they broke 2:04 in this weather, it would be comparable to a WR performance.
Again, look at the dewpoint. With the temp, it's worth 1-2% which is 75 seconds to 2:30.
Tilastopaja list Kibrom as 66:11 in the Half Marathon and 2:09.36 in the Marathon, The splits are suspect it has the Women at 1:04.30 at the half, even if it was 20k that would be crazy fast.
25k split is in - 1:14:00
Anyone know if this race pays appearance fees? I'm assuming yes as otherwise I'd go to Dubai where the purse is bigger and weather better right? WHat' sthe weather like in Dubai normally as compared to this.
I still ama amazed, they have a camera on Mutai who is a minute back.Kiptum getting on pacers shoulders at 73:04.
His stride is like Kiprop's. Bouncy.
I agree about the skyline, those buildings are impressive.
Someone will have to average 14:32 per 5k from here to the finish to break 2:04 and get the bonus. I don't see that happening but who knows.
Wonder why no americans showed up here to race? Could of walked away with 50,000$ for running under 2:11. Crazy.

The women went through halfway in 70

Not sure you can take the 1-2% factor literally but yes, it's probably a big factor
Lead pack of 9 at 15k in 44:19-44:22.
44:20 is 2:04:43 pace.
Halfway was 72:30.
9 people still in lead pack at 25k in 74:00 to 74:03. That's 2:04:53 pace so the pace is still pretty steady.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
