I'm looking for some advice. I'm a senior finishing up my last year of high school cross country. Was hoping break 16:00 this season but so far have only gotten my PR down to 16:02 and that was a few weeks ago. I came down with a bad respiratory cold that lasted 10 days and my races were sub-par because I had no energy and found it hard to breathe. Finally recovered last week but still ran like crap my first healthy race back. Only regionals and state to go so I'm hoping to rebound. I have always thought of running Footlocker or NXR Midwest Regionals. My coach isn't sure he wants to take me since he has never taken anyone before and doesn't really want to continue training after state in a couple weeks. I don't want to piss off my coach, but unless I feel differently after state, I'd love one more shot - especially at a big meet like FL/NXR. Should I/Can I register myself or does your coach need to sign you up? Would I still run for my school or would I run independently? Is my time good enough to compete? I would like to run in college - would running Footlocker or NXR would help in that regard? Is either race as good as the other?Any advice would be appreciated!
