So every once in a while (once a month) when running hard (breathing is at a high rate as in a hard 10k race) I go into oxygen debt and have to slow down a little for about 20 seconds and then I can resume at my hard effort without any problem. I feel like dead meat and going to puke. But as quick as the feeling comes it goes away just as fast by just backing off for 20 sec. or so. For example it happened again today. I was doing 3x2miles hard (8k race effort). On my 3rd one about a mile into it I felt what I was explaining. After 20 seconds of backing off a bit I was fine. I could push the last mile hard again. When the episode occurred I was not picking it up faster or going up a hill. So what gives?
