No they wouldn't. See how Americans on here embraced Ben Flanagan (Michigan) for running down Alabama Kenyan at NCAA 10,000.
Also, Wejo lauded Ben Flanagan for being 1st North American to win Falmouth in 30 years. If that is not indirect racism I don't know what is.
Obviously, by now it should be revealed that Flanagan is just as foreign as the Kenyans and should be treated accordingly.

I don't believe that was indirect racism, it was just pointing out a fact. Was it racist when people pointed out Yuki was the first Japanese runner to win Boston in over twenty years?

Of course it wouldn't.

Why didn't Wejo say Flanagan was 1st Canadian to win Falmouth since Peter Buniak? When a Kiwi wins an event previously won by an Aussie, does Wejo write "1st Australasian to win Falmouth in 30 years"?

lololololololol, Hardloper never fails to disappoint. The Captain Beige of the LRC Right.
and just as predictably, he won't have the stomach to answer this next question and will make a quick exit:
Would you be saying the same thing if he was born 200 miles south of San Diego?
cough cough ... NAU

and before you weasel out of it, I mean would you say the same thing of an athlete going to college in San Diego or LA and born 200 miles south.

so do Kenyan runners.
That's not really the discussion though is it?
You honestly think Hardloper would defend handing out scholarships to Mexicans runners because they are 'only 200 miles away ' like he did with Flanagan?
yeah............right

Did you just dodge the question?

I think it would be harder for a Kenyan to adjust to the culture and climate of San Diego than a Mexican, then...
Certainly. Just the same as people take issue with San Francisco, New Mexico, and Oregon (who just replaced a couple of Americans with foreigners on the women's side).

I'm pretty sure that NAU has not invested any money to recruit New Zealand athletes. In fact, Baxter and Beamish both reached out to NAU first and I don't know if Beamish is on much of an athletic scholarship since his family is pretty wealthy. Their success is seen in New Zealand and that causes a domino effect and other athletes try to follow the same path, like Quax and Smalls are doing.
As you can see in recent years, NAU is recruiting the best U.S. runners that they can, and getting a fair share of stars. Some of the other schools with a heavy international presence aren't really even trying to go after the kind of U.S. runners NAU is.
What should NAU do if a kid like Quax, with that kind of lineage, or Baxter or Beamish reach out and say they want to come to NAU and go to school and compete?
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
