I’m sure Mo is inconsolable ?

Mmmm. Yeah. Just like I'm sure Rupp is overly concerned that he ended up 5th in Chicago.
Mo cares about this...a lot! He is always talking about breaking or targeting a record. He doesn't like them taken away I'm very sure of that.
What? Wow! That's friggin awesome!
Just woke up and I see this. I'm giddy all over!
Nothing better than to see a Farah Euro record disappear. Really makes my day.
I'm going to have such an enjoyable run today.
I'm just happy that there is more than one good European runner!
Don't get it. Guys like Wanders and Farah should not be able to hold a Euro record if they train in Africa.
Abadia is the real record holder. Only trains in Europe.
Oh, people keep track of the European 10k road record? Wouldn’t have expected that. That’s nice, I guess.
You're acting like this dude actually beat Mo in a head-to-head race. We're talking about a weak record Mo set in 2010, when he was actually quite weak himself. I don't see any way that Farah is not a doper, but to pretend like he cares about a meaningless European 10k road record is asinine - if he cared, he would've put the record far out of Wanders' reach. The real devastation here belongs to the great white hype, who got blasted over the final stages of the race to lose by 16 seconds.

Good for Wanders, but Farah could go out and break this record next weekend if he had a mind to. Actually I'm surprised that the European 10km record is so slow. Not even close to the 27:08 Rhonex Kipruto ran in hilly Central Park earlier this year.
Stupid post.
Mo didn’t race. Therefore he didn’t ‘go home devastated.’

Woudda, shoudda, coudda. Farah cannot break that record. If he could, he would. You can also say Rupp can go on and easily break the world record if he had the mind to.

You cleary don't know anything about this sport. Wanders placed 7th and 8th at the European Championships two months ago in fields Farah would have toyed with (excluding Jakob Ingebrigtsen). Of course Mo is far superior and would have easily outkicked Cheptegei for the win today.

His having won 10 consecutive gold medals at the WC and Olympics is meaningless now. He is tough, though, and afterer a week long bender he will be OK.
Was anybody there? I heard Wanders did the MOBOT as he crossed the finish line!?!
True!
Abadia only trains in Spain and does altitude training stints in the Spanish Colorado, Teruel!
27:32 is good, much better than the previous European record.
However, that time is still really slow compared to the best in the world, and should be at least a minute or so faster.
This is the road 10k.
Mo holds the accurate track record.

I wondered when someone got round to pointing out the difference between a track record and a road ‘record.’
Back in more rational times, all road times were declared best times, not for record purposes as quite obviously all road courses varied, a great deal in some cases.

10k Road record is held by Leonard Komon (26'44"). So the "at least a minute or so" is vastly overstated... not to say you dont have that many guys that manage to dip under 27'30" on the road to begin with.... And Wanders time is similar to those of the two Robertsons who are no slouch.....

It's a road record. Nobody cares about the road record except for perhaps the OP.
