It looks like it has been asked in the past, but looking for a more up to date answer. Need it to do some recruiting.

athletic.net all da way
MileSplit is the worst! clueless people that don't really know the in and outs of HS XC
You'd probably have the most success using the H.S. athletic association websites for each state.
It really depends on the state you are recruiting in. In Colorado almost all the high schools use Milesplit for their meet registration/results so the data is much more complete than what you'll find in Athletic.net. In other states the same is probably true of Athletic.net. Milesplit does pay people to update results and vet times (wind readings for example) so their top lists are pretty complete, depending on how deep you are looking to recruit. The tradeoff is you are going to have to pay to access those reports, but I think you have to pay for Athletic.net now too.
MileSplit is absolutely horrible on rankings. It's like they just use darts when picking most of them. WOW are they bad! Also, the information they constantly get wrong. You would think they just throw their employees to the wolves they are so bad.
I guess it depends what state you are in.
For Ohio, Milesplit is far superior to Althetic.net in every possible way.
