The guy has two sub 8 minute 2 mile runs on his resume. I know he would most likely run under 1hr for the half quite easily but what would he run for the full marathon?

59 for the half
2:02 for the full
FACT: Daniel Komwn wanted to win titles but more than anything he wantef ti run faster then anyone ever have at various distances. In his prime as a half/full marathoner he would have targeted sub 58 half and 2 hours marathon. He may not have hit both but his main focus was the clock and he would have given everything and punished his body to hit those times.
I'm glad he retired because he was too driven time wise.
Komen got injured, partied, and drank too much once he got rich. He wouldn't have had the self discipline to train for a marathon

FACT: So much ignorance in one post. Astonishing.
Komen would have been very unlikely to have ever done the miles required for the muscle durability required for a Marathon. His Aerobic house was built on empty EPO vials.
Question was in his prime before he started partying what could he run. I looked at the post as if he focused on the half/full during his prime. As a time oriented athlete he would have targeted those barriers and pushed his body to the extreme to accomplished those goals. Komen was about running fast as possible over titles. He was a rare mindset type athlete

Geb was time focused too (setting the record for records) and we know what he done, and I don't think anyone believes Komon was better than Geb from 10k up. (I'll call them equal at 5000). In his prime, maybe Geb have run similarly to Kipchoge in the marathon, the problem is, when Geb was 25 or thereabout, it as absolutely unthinkable about pacing 61 flat and negative splitting. The mental aspect cannot be overlooked (the belief it can be done).
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
