I'm looking at the upcoming calendar of road races in my local area for 5k to marathon distances and the number of "charity" runs vastly out number actual races where you get timed. Makes me sick. Like 80% of the runs in the upcoming calendar is to raise money for whatever thing where most of the high priced entry fees and obligations likely will go to lining someone's rich pocket.
Running needs to stick with running and not associate with high priced feel good shills that don't even time you or take races seriously. When did running become about how much money you can fleece out of the next sucker?
