I doubt it. He was training as hard as he could. He reached max lifetime miles on his legs very early from all the hard "to the wall" sessions.
It's like when Rodgers when from 2:20 marathons to 2:50 between 42 and 45. Legs were done. Mind was done.
He was mentally fragile, tactically deficient, and only good when he was on PEDs.
Bad Achilles, correct? We've seen athletes from other sports with ruined Achilles who never 100% regained pre-injury level of performance. We didn't say Dan Marino, Kobe Bryant, Isiah Thomas (the older) or Dominique Wilkins were psychologically fragile.
