Assuming you put in the same amount of intensity, time, and effort? Remember how you would always talk to your friends, family, and coworkers about how much you ran, where you ran, and the competitions you pursued (NCAA, NAIA, or even local 5ks/10ks/marathons), which sport could you see yourself doing?
For me, it would be soccer.
I had a friend who went to Kazakhstan during the time the World Cup was on, and he played a friendly 6 v. 6 with his cousin, and he said that even his cousin doesn't play competitively, he's really, really good.
If only we had a friendly international match between professional soccer players vs. middle distance TF guys, maybe we can fully understand how well we could do against one another.
In my opinion, the conversations about soccer are way more interesting than TF/XC, and even though we're endurance guys, in the scope of conversations with anyone you know who isn't an athlete, people view that soccer players are faster and stronger that TF/XC guys. To an extent I think that is true.
Now when I eat with my friends, I never talk about my running - it hurts me.
