Like some other posters of late, motivation has been low, time has been short, and the weather has been awful. Still, this was my best week in awhile.
The highlight was Thursday morning’s group run. I have one athlete who is training to run a sub-4:00 marathon in December who is just starting her buildup, so she used the run as an early dose of light MP work. I have another athlete starting a HM cycle for Philly who hopes to run 1:50ish there, but is running a HM in 4 weeks targeting sub-2:00, so her workout was more of a cruise interval style workout. And the other two runners (including my fiance) typically run their easy days in the 9:00-9:30ish range so the run was just a nice easy run for them. For me, a very easy recovery run from the day before. I love it when runners with different goals, different abilities, and different backgrounds can all meet up on the same run and achieve his/her respective goals for the day. Group training at its best...
Have a minor Osgood-Schlatter flare-up below my left knee, which isn’t affecting my running too bad, just a reminder that I need to be much more diligent about stretching my hamstrings, quads, and IT bands. My fiance’s marathon is in 4 weeks, so just need to be reasonably fit and healthy for the pacing duty there (3:40ish goal time).
Hope everyone else had a great week.
