there is a lot of cheating in the sport unfortunately. some women have been cutting course, skipping sections of races and splicing in someone else's GPX data on strava for years. I witnessed a woman cheat at Wasatch a few years ago - brazenly cutting out a huge portion of the course while I was crewing. Then I saw her on the podium in 3rd place at the finish. She had to be 50 lbs overweight. Last year I was pacing at IMTUF and the same woman won! Hopefully someone will figure it out and justice given to the other women who can actually run.

Sex and beauty sells. Having a beautiful "runner" who can't actually run makes a business more money than a pretty fast runner with zero features. Features being bosoms and butt. I mean would you be enticed to buy from a running company if they show you a bald Kenyan woman or a beauty queen?

I mean, Elizabeth Holmes at Theranos duped her investors (all older men) into giving her 100s of millions of $ simply by being somewhat attractive and dressing like Steve Jobs, so yeahhhhhhh....

I don't find her that attractive. I say she is only a 6 and doesn't look like a natural blonde. There are way loads more women on the track that easily outrank her in beauty.

Where does she fall on the hot/crazy scale though versus your track beauties ? ;) .
That's the key...ha

Bald Kenyan woman, easily. Ever heard of speed goggles?

No beer and/or speed goggles necessary here:

The course in Scotland will be technically challenging, most likely in foul weather. I have a marathon PR of 2:52 and would struggle to avoid embarassing myself on that kind of course, it's hardcore!
Maude would have stood no chance, in fact she could have hurt herself. Trying to take a short cut on a misty mountainside could end in tradegy.
The Skyrunning team look silly, they should have looked in to her running background, great results do not appear out of the blue. There is a natural progression over time and distance, especially at Ultra distances. Zero to hero does not happen.
These narcissists have to be exposed early and afforded the appropriate mental healthcare at the earliest opportunity. It's completely at odds with the ethos of running events.
Looks like her Instagram page is no longer public.

Have you tried contacting the RDs or Marathon Investigations? If the woman is 50 lbs overweight, any common sense RD should have DQed her on the spot if she took first place. Do you have links to some of those fake Strava files?
I just posted this comment on the blog, but for added visibility I'll add it here as well:
I was at the TARC winter 32-miler in 2016, and her splits from that race are also highly suspicious now that I look at them. This is a looped run (4x an 8 mile course) and official splits are provided with the UltraSignup results at
http://ultrasignup.com/event_splits.aspx?did=36676
. She supposedly put down laps of:
1:10
1:40
1:16
2:42
I don’t doubt the last one, but 1:10 is the fastest loop time of the day (even by people who beat her by an hour and 20 minutes) and a 1:16 would also be among the top 10 fastest - this is a very rocky, twisty, hilly course. She apparently finished the 3rd loop within a minute of the 3rd place male, after 3 wildly inconsistent loops, and then had effectively the slowest loop of anyone all day to finish 3rd woman overall.
Note that this race has a short out-and-back section at the start/end, and then a big loop. Runners are allowed to choose either direction (clockwise or counterclockwise) to run the loop in – making it that much easier for people to lose track of where a runner is supposed to be. If no one knows you and no one is around, you could just turn around at any point on the loop and pretend you are running it the other direction, cutting any distance you want out of each loop. I don’t believe there are intermediate mats out on the course. There is an aid station but I don't recall them tracking runners at all.
Cheater’s paradise.
What is the point of recording lap splits if organizers aren’t going to use them to weed out cheaters, even if it is limited to only the most egregious and obvious offenders like Maude the Fraud? If RD’s aren’t interested in doing the work necessary to put on an actual race, then just let people pony up $$$ to wander around a park all day, pass out shirts and finishers medals at the end of the day, and declare everyone a winner so they can go home and brag on Facebook that they just ran some random distance they made up in their narcissistic brains.
If you upload from Garmin Fenix 3, is there any way there would be no cadence data?
Yay... Massachusetts...

Race Buster at honestatnlete is a lot better. Less condescending too.
He's catching f*cking cheaters and you're worried about the condescension?
