Out of all the long distance runners on the track, Lopez Lomong does the best job of balancing a desirable body type with race performance. Too many distance runners look skeletal and ghoulish in appearance. Not Lomong. He has a respectable enough body to function in public settings without fear of ridicule whilst still maintaining top running form. Plus when he is done with the sport he already has a great jumping off point to gain even more muscle if he chose to do so. Really, it seems he has the best of both worlds.
Is it difficult to gain his body type? Is it mostly genetics? Would this body type impact the average 15:00 5k runners performance noticeabley? Perhaps he gets away with it due to talent. Most importantly, is his workout regiment out there? Would really like to do it myself to experiment. Hopefully it doesn’t involve much gym work. Really don’t want to be around all those knuckle dragging buffoons that frequent my local gym.
