Hey LRC, I am signed up for a 15k race in two weeks. I’m in the middle of base training, so I haven’t been doing any speed, but I have been running ~70 miles per week at a 6:50 average for at least 2 months. What should I do to be best prepared for this race? I know I’m not optimally prepared, but I still want to do well!
I have done some harder efforts, like a 13 mile progression going from 6:45 to 5:35. I did a similar 15 mile progression run going from 6:50 to 6:00 flat the last couple of miles, and a 14 mile run with the last half at 6:00 pace. What kind of fitness does this indicate, and what workouts, if any should I try before the race?
