Train season is in danger of coming to an abrupt end. I have had achilles problems for a long time but managed them 95% time and they didnt stop me running.
I ran a 3000m race 2 weeks and injured it. I could hardly walk at the end of it. Since then I have continued running but I cannot get up on my toes at all. For instance I cannot hop on my right foot. So to race 1500m on the track, I simply cannot do the speed training, nor the racing. I have decided I am going to take 10 days off and when I can hop on my right foot pain free I will try to return to proper training.
Any one have something similar? Any tips to speed up recovery? I have iced and done thousands of heel drops? Now I am going to just try rest it altogether. I am a bit desperate as track season is about to go down the tubes.
The exact location is on the lateral side of right heel where achilles inserts. (exceptional painful to even touch)
