I just started running and I am now 50. I notice my legs and feet get sore and my legs feel like tree trunks when I do attempt to run. My right knee grinds going up steps and running seems to aggravate it.
Should I quit running or press on and maybe do something to prevent the injuries?
I try to run about four times a week. Not for very long, maybe a few miles. I also work out at the gym but really don't do any leg exercises, mostly upper body.
Now, I am about 50 pounds overweight, which doesn't help. However, I'm trying to run to lose weight so it's not easy at the moment.
Should I wear compression gear perhaps? Maybe that CopperFit type stuff, especially on my right knee?
It could be my diet too, or lack of water intake. I do supplement with protein powder because I work out.
Trying to get ideas here so bare with me. Getting old sucks! LOL!
