What is up with the BYU runner (in sunglasses ) . His arm swing is insane. It reminds me of Mary caine’s But way worse. Amazingly he was Top 10 with 2 laps to go, ( so way better than I ever was) I can’t believe that doesn’t hurt his performance
Reminds me of Sam Penzenstadler from a few years ago. Incomprehensibly fast despite really goofy form
Flanagan comes out of the same city (Kitchener, ON), same HS (St. Mary's) and runs for the same university (Michigan) as last year's 1500m winner Jaimie Phelan
Unbelievably bad TV coverage of the 10,000. I'll be mad if they do the same tomorrow and spoil the Karissa Schweizer Show.
What's up with BYU pulling the last-three-places sweep crossing the line holding hands?

8 laps to go: Day, Kiprop, Flanagan, Baxter, Kentucky guy, McMillan are your top 6 as they start to lap runners. NAU guys aren't doubling back so this is it for them.
Kentucky guy is Jacob Thomson. Ended up running a PR to get 6th.

They didn’t consider NCAA’s important so they decided to run it as a tempo run. Look for big performances this summer.
Arkansas blade runner in the final heat of the 4x4.

Shocking how many blade runners are at a high level in the 400... it is almost like they have an advantage.

If he's allowed to use those things, I should be allowed to use my bike.

Wasn’t USC a choice in the 4x100 prediction contest? They weren’t in the event.
Yes it was a choice.

A bit late but 44.98 to make 400 final is sick.
The 400 semi finals was the best event on the track today and I think this is the first time ever that all 8 finalists ran under 45 to make a final in NCAA history.

I don't know if you guys remember. Approx 6 years ago, Ben, who was then in HS, posted on letsrun, enquiring whether he was fast enough to get a scholarship.
Well, not only was he good enough, but...
The decathlon is far from over. I don't understand why Duckworth simply retired after his 2m13 HJ. He only has a 184 point lead over Williams. In addition, Duckworth got lucky to get a 400m PB, while Williams was over 1 second slower than his own PB in the 400. Duckworth' lead could have been only 130 points (or less) after the first 5 events.
Day 2 starts with the hurdles, where Williams has a 13.88 PB vs Duckworth's 14.30 PB. Duckworth could lose another 40 or 50 points to Williams in that event. They are pretty even in the next 3 events (Duckworth a bit better in the DT, Williams a bit better in the PV and Duckworth a bit better in the JT) but then Duckworth is 33sec slower than Williams in the 1500. That's over 200 points!!!
Duckworth is going to regret not having gone after 2m16 in the HJ during his last lap of the 1500m

Did LR tell him "sorry kid, you suck"?
The 400 is absolutely ridiculous this year. I cant believe how fast that was. These kids are on another level
4x4 seeding sucked. I understand it but relays should revert back to best times in the year. Winner of heat 2 would have been beaten by almost entire heat 1. Teams were eliminated who would have won another heat and placed well in finals.
If you had been watching, you would have seen Duckworth grab his leg after clearing 2.13m and then limp off and remove both of his shoes after speaking with his coach. A wise decision not to take anymore jumps and hope he could recover a little before the 400. Seems to have worked., he kept the lead and kept himself in the competition.
