He's been a stud for years and has a great chance at the record this year. His powerful and extra long stride coupled with his excellent speed makes him a great candidate to chase the World Record over the next few years. Honestly, I think he would make a great 800 meter runner as well and easily end up being a 1:42 man.

Scores of guys with his speed have tried the 800 and they didn't run anywhere near 1:42. The 400h is not an event that's similar to the 800, despite so many goofballs claiming such. If it were, all kinds of 400h would have run better 800m times than they actually did when attempting to be 2 lappers. There have been a few guys who could run both well, but not many. Benjamin might have the talent to run 1:42 but more likely he doesn't.
I guess Norman might be on tap for 1:39. lol
Say what you will about probabilities and statistics, I’m just pointing out that his biomechanics are phenomenal. With such a long and powerful stride, running an 800 would suit him well. 1:43 or 1:53, it doesn’t matter, I’m sure it’d be great to watch.
I watched Rai run a 1:22 600 metre in high school on a flat gymnasium floor. He's got some decent endurance. That being said, I also watched him jog a 10.5 100 metre for a county record, so he's got way more speed.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
