At what age did you discover that you really don't need to be on a team to be a competitive runner?
Didn’t start running till I was ten basically eleven, never was on a team till senior year xc and only because me and other guys wanted to win usatf xc(3rd)
Being on a team can be good though... not all kids or people have coaches with them and need to be in a group for that, plus some people run better in groups etc

You've just outed yourself as a hobby jogger.
Real runners need a group to train with to get the most out of workouts.
