Hello sirs.
I am from the430miler from Oklahoma and I have read both of your books. My prs are 50 for 400, 159 for 800, 427 for the mile, and 34:01 for 10k.
I would like to ask you, what is YOUR strategy for telling runners how to deal with windy races?
1. Should they slow down while going into the wind?
2. Should they speed up while going into the wind or just keep their head down and deal with it?
3. Should they focus on taking shorter strides and then speed up going with the wind?
Wind hurts any distance time over 400 meters because we must battle it multiple times.
Also, during training sessions, do you ever have your runners do sprints into the wind to help with strength and speed and to better prepare for windy races? Is wind running any different in hills than on flat surfaces?
Thank you so much in advance, and I hope both of you are in good health.
