I doubt he will ever get it. He’s past his prime and today’s 2:06 showed that. A runner if his track and world/Olympic gold caliber should be winning. Same story for Bekele. Both are past their prime.

Of course he's past his prime. That doesn't mean he can't get the ER. Bekele was also past his prime when he ran 2:03.
Chances are, if Farah hadn't gone out at a completely unsustainable pace with Kipchoge and co., he'd probably have the European Record right now.
