Why is this race considered well-run? Post race was a sadistic disaster. Runners were forced on a freezing death march after crossing the finish line: why weren’t space blankets the first item distributed instead of the last, creating unnecessary hypothermia? Why was gear check pickup done by number—obviously that’s who will likely finish at the same time, common sense! Why was there an insane line to enter the tiny changing area (~14 feet square) that was flooded with water and useless? Nowhere warm or even covered for anyone to get themselves together. Medical tents (almost 10% of runners had to visit!!) kicking hypothermic people out to make room for more, ridiculous and irresponsible. Nobody can control the weather, but they sure as hell could have prepared better.
