First off congratulations to everyone who raced yesterday in those conditions.
I’m calling upon LRC wisdom. My lifetime goal is sub 2:30. If I can do it this fall that would be ideal as I’ll be 37 in July.
I have an entry to Chicago, but with current situation coming off injury and less than ideal schedule for marathon training in July and early August, I could use an extra 6-8 weeks to target a race later in the year.
I’m looking at Philadelphia or CIM. It would be about $1500 more for me to do CIM and things are a little tight right now. Logistics for Philly would also be way easier as I’m near NYC. But the fast course and competition at California International are appealing to me. It does seem that there’s always a 2:28-2:31 pack at Philly too, just not as competitive. If it’s a bad weather day at either of these races my backup would be Houston.
Thoughts? Many thanks.
