I am looking for a good alternative to the Nike Elite 9. I have been running in my pair for about 175 miles and have enjoyed the lightweight feel and good cushioning that they provide. The main reason I cannot run in them anymore is due to the fact that they just cause too many blisters/irritation to my Achilles due to the sharp forward angle of the heel section on the shoe. No matter how I tie them, I keep having issues even though I wear decent, tight fitting running socks (Swiftwick).
I primarily run in Nike shoes (currently using Pegasus 34's and Vomero 13's) but I am not opposed to trying a different brand. I am a bigger runner (6'4" and 215lbs) so shoes that have a nice, durable outsole are preferred as I wear out the softer blown rubber outsoles on the Vomero's quickly. Mostly, I am just wanting a good, lightweight pair of shoes for tempo work as well as running in 5K's, 10K's, and a half marathon later this summer.
I did some research and came upon the Addidas Adizero Adios 3 that look very promising but they are difficult to find now in decent colors so I am unsure if Addidas is discontinuing them or not? Any other thoughts or suggestions? Thank you!
